Fog

A dense, heavy cloud
Consuming both earth and sky
In a haze of gray

An Old Friend

A door to a world,
Both thrilling and comforting,
Through weathered pages

Tiny Flutists

The tiny flutists
Gather and play clashing tunes
Outside my window.

En Pointe

Shining satin shoes
Lift, sweep, and spin through the light
And into darkness

Thunderstorm

A thunderous beat
Rising to a crescendo
Then silent applause

Magnolia

Barely opened buds,
A hint of blushing white blooms –
Browned by sullen frost

Woodpeckers

A sweet morning’s peace,
Broken by staccato beats
Of tiny hammers

Shy Breezes

Cool breezes whisper
Of warming sunlight and heat
But hush when they come.

Static Change

An unmoving bar
Measures the future in lies
As slow clouds speed by.

An Arresting Glimpse

Fifteen more minutes
Of eternity frozen
In amber paper
